Checkin’ Out is blog featuring books that are worth the check out.

There are roughly 170 million books in the world. Well, according to A.I. Thank you, Google. Regardless of the REAL number, as a librarian and classroom teacher, it can be challenging to know what books are worth the money and effort to promote to children.

How can we make sure the books our children and students are reading are worth their time? Provide quality content? Promote inclusion and diversity? Age level appropriate? Correct reading level? Correlate with lessons? The questions never end!

Well, have no fear! Checkin’ Out is here!

Checkin’ Out is a personal blog created and written by Caitlyn M. She is currently a fourth grade teacher and aspiring librarian in the St. Louis area. With over 20 years of experience of working children and 11 years in the classroom, you can trust this cat-loving, Harry Styles fanatic, and slightly unhinged educator to provide you honest, reflective, and entertaining information. Given the gift of gab, she may write run-on sentences and her grammar may not be above fourth grade level, but she gives it her all!
